Year 3 Environmental Design
Interior Design Studio
The term consisted of three projects all focused on an artist-in-residence program located at 164 Langside Street, Winnipeg. The intent was to [hypothetically] bring in artists who create art that represents different cultures – cultures from across the world – and provide them with living quarters, a studio, and a small gallery space. The objective was to expose people in the neighbourhood to the many different cultures and types of art. In the first project, students undertook an investigation of the neighbourhood and general context of the project. The second project saw students develop schematic designs for each of the three levels. In the third and final stage students produced fully developed design proposals along with materials boards.
